JAC Motors Cuts Effective Price of Best-Selling JAC 7 Plug-In by Up to 13,000 Shekels with Added Features
Following recent price reductions by Citroën and Mazda and new affordable models from BYD and Tesla, JAC Motors' Israeli importer, Carmobil, has effectively lowered the price of the JAC 7 Plug-In hybrid by enhancing its standard equipment without changing the official price list. The two basic trim levels now include features previously reserved for higher trims, resulting in an effective price cut of 10,000 to 13,000 shekels. For example, the base model priced at 180,000 shekels gains most of the features from the 193,000-shekel trim, such as electric driver and passenger seats, synthetic leather upholstery, electric mirror folding, front cooling compartment, and a 12-volt socket in the trunk.
The Elegance trim at 180,000 shekels now includes these upgrades, improving the JAC 7's competitiveness against other plug-in and hybrid models in the Israeli market. The Premium trim, now priced at 190,000 shekels, adds an electric tailgate, wireless phone charging, a Sony sound system with eight speakers, heated and ventilated front seats, and electric driver seat memory with lumbar support, features previously exclusive to the Luxury trim. Additionally, upgraded trims have replaced touchscreen controls for mirrors and folding with physical switches for safer and easier operation.
This equipment upgrade without a name change aims to prevent market value shocks in the used car segment, which could affect leasing companies' asset valuations. Since 2024, about 16,500 JAC 7 units have been registered in Israel, with 59% owned by private customers. The JAC 7 was Israel's best-selling vehicle in 2025 and continues to lead in 2026 with 7,404 units sold, narrowly surpassing the smaller and cheaper JAC 5, which sold 7,395 units, according to the Ministry of Transportation.
