MK Merav Cohen Urges Defense Ministry to Improve Accessibility at Mount Herzl Military Cemetery

MK Merav Cohen from the "Together" party has addressed the Defense Ministry and police to improve access to the military cemetery at Mount Herzl. Her appeal was made on behalf of the family of the late Itai Leshem, who was killed in combat in the Gaza Strip in 2025. Itai's father was unable to reach his son's grave on Memorial Day due to accessibility failures at the site. In response, the Defense Ministry stated it had hired a consulting firm, learned from the incident, and implemented a series of measures to ensure better accessibility ahead of the next Memorial Day.
