MK Limor Son Har-Melech Criticizes IDF Central Command Chief Avi Blot Over Security in Alon Road Area
MK Limor Son Har-Melech sharply criticized Central Command Chief Avi Blot on social media for allowing plowing near Alon Road, a site of past terror attacks and the location where her late husband, Shuli Har-Melech, was murdered. She highlighted that when Palestinian farmers cultivated fields adjacent to the road, attacks were frequent, but security improved after establishing Jewish outposts like Metzudat David and other farms, making the route safer for Jewish travelers.
Son Har-Melech condemned the decision to secure the plowing activity, arguing that despite claims of insufficient forces for offensive operations against enemies, troops were deployed to protect this agricultural work, which she said reintroduces threats close to the road and endangers residents. She also noted that forces were found overnight to demolish two memorial points for fallen soldier Binyahu Malt, implying a misallocation of military resources.
She accused Blot of having a "short blanket" when it comes to fighting terror but always finding forces when it comes to undermining settlement security. Her comments come amid ongoing tensions in the West Bank and debates over resource allocation for security operations in sensitive areas.
