MK Tal Gottlieb Criticizes Central Command Chief Avi Blot Over 'Jewish Terror' Narrative

MK Tal Gottlieb sharply criticized Major General Avi Blot, head of the IDF Central Command, accusing him of promoting a false narrative about Jewish terrorism. Speaking on Channel 14's "Open Studio" with Boaz Golan on Wednesday, Gottlieb condemned the security establishment's support for Blot's advancement, particularly reports that he is slated to become head of Military Intelligence (AMAN).

Gottlieb also rebuked Defense Minister Israel Katz and IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi, saying Katz was suddenly uncomfortable and apologetic while Kochavi insisted on appointing Blot despite lessons from the October 7 attacks. She questioned the validity of labeling Jewish nationalist terrorism as a serious threat, calling it a "false campaign" that must end.

The controversy follows sharp criticism of Blot from settler leaders, especially regarding the Tal Yinon Dradik case. After a military court canceled an order against Dradik, Blot appealed the decision, sparking backlash. However, the Yesha Council expressed support for Blot, highlighting his contributions to security and planning to meet with the defense minister to discuss the issue.

This public dispute reflects tensions within Israeli security and settler communities over Blot's policies and his potential promotion within the IDF hierarchy.
