MK Tali Gottlieb Accuses Shin Bet of Promoting Palestinian Statehood Through Anti-Settler Campaigns

MK Tali Gottlieb sharply criticized the Jewish Division of the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) on Monday, accusing it of orchestrating a false narrative against Jewish residents in Judea and Samaria to foster hatred and pave the way for the establishment of a Palestinian state. Gottlieb claimed she is the only politician willing to openly challenge the Shin Bet and its portrayal of settlers, describing the agency's campaign as deliberate and misleading.

She rejected accusations that left-wing voters or pro-Palestinian activists are responsible for settler violence, instead blaming senior and former Israeli security officials, including Amikam Ayalon, Tamir Pardo, and Ram Ben-Barak. Gottlieb cited their wartime interviews accusing Jews of committing genocide and killing Palestinians daily, questioning how the left could be blamed when the Shin Bet itself spreads such narratives.

Gottlieb also referenced past incidents to illustrate what she called systematic persecution by the Shin Bet's Jewish Division, recalling recordings threatening administrative arrests and targeting armed Jews in Judea and Samaria during violent events. She asserted that the division continues to act aggressively against Jewish residents in the region.

The controversy highlights ongoing tensions between Israeli security agencies and settler communities amid broader political debates over the future of the West Bank and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
