Israeli Health Ministry Warns Public Against Fake Olive Oil Sold Nationwide

The Israeli Ministry of Health issued a warning on Monday against consuming a counterfeit olive oil product labeled "Village Olive Oil Dalit al-Karmel," produced by "Mishak HaGalil" in Majd al-Krum. This alert covers all expiration dates and batches currently in circulation. The warning followed routine inspections by the Ministry's Food Service and a citizen complaint. Investigations revealed that the manufacturer is not registered with the Ministry of Health and the source of the oil is unknown.

The Ministry cautioned the public against buying food products from unidentified or non-compliant sources and urged consumers to purchase only from authorized and recognized distributors. The Food Service will continue monitoring and identifying food fraud cases, including olive oil counterfeiting. The Ministry emphasized that any violations of Israeli food legislation and standards will be met with enforcement actions in coordination with relevant authorities.
