Israeli Health Ministry Destroys 155 Kg of Unsafe Meat, Issues Public Warning
The Israeli Ministry of Health destroyed approximately 155 kilograms of beef, poultry, and fish products at a business in southern Israel after uncovering serious violations during an inspection. The inspection revealed multiple breaches including illegal marketing of products, improper freezing and thawing of fresh meats, unauthorized grinding and seasoning of meat, and items lacking manufacturer or expiration labels. Following these findings, and under the directive of the official veterinary physician, the contaminated products were deemed unfit for human consumption and destroyed.
The Ministry emphasized that handling, storing, and selling beef, poultry, and fish without complying with legal standards poses health risks to the public. Customers who purchased unlabeled products or items past their expiration date from the establishment are urged not to consume them and to dispose of them immediately. The Ministry of Health, together with local authorities, pledged to continue enforcement and supervision efforts to protect public health.
Additional guidance on proper purchasing of meat, poultry, and fish is available on the Ministry of Health's website. The incident occurred in Dimona and highlights ongoing vigilance in food safety enforcement in Israel.
