Israeli Health Ministry Destroys 260 Kg of Unsafe Meat from Kiryat Malachi Butcher Shop

The Israeli Ministry of Health announced the destruction of approximately 260 kilograms of meat and poultry products at the "Maadanei Eliya" butcher shop located at 7 Rashi Street in Kiryat Malachi. This action followed a joint inspection conducted last week with the district veterinarian, which uncovered significant sanitary violations.

The inspection revealed meat and poultry products lacking proper documentation of origin, expired items, and products not labeled according to legal requirements. The Ministry emphasized that full labeling and documentation are essential for tracking product sources and ensuring public safety. Additionally, the butcher shop was found to be producing and thawing meat without the necessary permits and under poor sanitary conditions, increasing the risk of bacterial contamination.

Due to these findings, the district veterinarian ordered the destruction of the unsafe products, which were deemed unfit for human consumption and a potential health hazard. The Ministry of Health urged customers who purchased meat products from this butcher shop that were improperly labeled or past their expiration date not to consume them and to dispose of them immediately.

The Ministry also stated it will continue proactive inspections and enforcement actions in food businesses in cooperation with local authorities to identify violations and prevent the sale of products that could endanger public health.
