Israeli Health Ministry Expands Recall of Vanilla Biscuits Over Unusual Odor
The Israeli Ministry of Health has issued an expanded recall for vanilla-flavored Petit Beurre biscuits under the brand "Hadar," imported by Apifit Nazareth Biscuit Industries and produced by Anmol Industries in India. The recall follows consumer complaints about an unusual odor emanating from the biscuits, which was traced to oxidation of one of the product's ingredients. Laboratory tests confirmed that a second production batch was also affected, prompting the ministry and the company to widen the recall.
The affected batches bear production codes SZ 32195 and 26A, with expiration dates of November 25, 2026, and March 7, 2027, respectively, and have the barcode 7290018790717. Consumers who have purchased these batches are urged to check the production codes and expiration dates and to avoid consuming the product if it matches the recalled lots.
The company is coordinating with the Northern District Food Service of the Ministry of Health to remove the affected biscuits from retail stores and sales points. The ministry's announcement serves as a precaution to protect public health until the products are fully withdrawn from the market.
