Tel Aviv Police Officer Charged with Sexual Offenses Against Vulnerable Woman

A Tel Aviv police officer has been indicted for serious offenses, including sexual assault and abuse of power, against a Russian-speaking woman from Kazakhstan. The Department for the Investigation of Police Officers (MAHAШ) filed the charges following an incident that began in June of the previous year.

According to the indictment, the officer responded to a call at the woman's apartment. He then handcuffed her and took her to a police station without legal grounds for arrest, holding her for several hours without interrogation. He allegedly threatened her, demanding she calm down or face continued detention. Before releasing her, the officer gave her his phone number and proposed an intimate relationship.

Subsequently, the officer visited her home multiple times, allegedly exploiting her vulnerable position to coerce her into sexual relations. He continued to contact her, offering assistance in exchange for intimacy. In one instance, he promised to help her recover a debt if she agreed to a sexual encounter, becoming enraged when she refused.

The officer is also accused of breaching official secrecy by sharing confidential investigation details about an acquaintance of the woman. The charges include abuse of authority, fraud, and breach of public trust. This case follows a separate report by "Cursor" about the arrest of a Ben Gurion Airport employee suspected of sexual crimes against women.
