Police Officer Charged with Unlawful Arrest, Sexual Misconduct, and Bribery

The Police Investigations Department of the State Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against a police officer from the Lev Tel Aviv station. The charges include abuse of power, fraud, and breach of trust. According to the indictment, the officer unlawfully arrested a foreign civilian without legal cause and subsequently pursued a sexual relationship with her, exploiting his position.

On the night of June 9-10, 2025, the officer responded to a call at the woman's apartment in Tel Aviv. Despite no grounds for arrest, he informed her she was under arrest, handcuffed her, and took her to the police station, where she remained for hours without being interrogated. Before her release, he gave her his personal phone number.

Later that night, while on duty, he followed her on a scooter to her apartment and entered it. He visited her home on three additional occasions, during one of which he engaged in sexual intercourse with her. The indictment further states that the woman asked the officer to help her collect a debt from a company, but he implied he would only assist if she engaged in further sexual relations. After she refused, he left angrily.

In a separate incident, the officer allegedly used his position to obtain information about the arrest of an acquaintance of the woman, despite not being involved in the investigation, and shared details of the suspicions against the individual with her. The severe indictment was filed following these alleged actions.
