All roads leading to and from the southern Israeli city of Eilat have been blocked in both directions due to severe flooding. The Arava Junction and the northern entrance and exit to the city were closed shortly before the report, as the Arava Road (Route 90) became impassable. Concurrently, Route 12 was also shut down. Earlier in the morning, Route 40, between the Mitzpe Ramon and Ketura junctions, and Route 13, between the Menuha and Tzeh'or junctions, were closed. Despite the widespread closures, travel will be permitted for departures from Eilat solely to Ramon Airport. The Israel Police are urging drivers to avoid the affected roads and to obey officers' instructions.
