The decision followed inundation on Highway 90, which led to the closure of the Arava junction, Eilat's northern entrance, and its northern exit. Highway 12 was also closed to traffic. Earlier in the day, police had closed Highway 40 between the Mitzpe Ramon and Ketura junctions, and Highway 13 between the Menuha and Tze'elim junctions.
