The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted a series of airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, targeting positions of Hamas and Islamic Jihad. The military reported eliminating four militants involved in planning attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians. According to the IDF spokesperson, the strikes were carried out after intelligence confirmed targets in northern, southern, and central Gaza.
On Sunday, Israeli forces killed three members of the militant wings of Islamist groups. Among those eliminated were Islamic Jihad fighters Alaa Abu Zaid and Hamdan Suleiman Ibrahim Abu Amra. Fawzi Salam Odah Allah Sawarkha, identified as a Hamas sniper responsible for organizing and carrying out sniper attacks on IDF units, was also killed.
The previous day, Saturday, a separate operation in northern Gaza resulted in the elimination of Muhammad Anan Muhammad al-Ruwaj, who led a Nukhba unit within Hamas's military wing. The IDF stated that these militants were engaged in restoring the groups' military capabilities and preparing for further attacks, thereby violating ceasefire agreements.
In addition to targeting individuals, the IDF also identified and destroyed a military building in northern Gaza that had been converted into a stationary sniper post used for observing Israeli patrols. Precision munitions were employed to completely demolish the firing point after the threat was confirmed. The IDF emphasized that measures were taken to protect civilians during these operations, utilizing constant aerial surveillance and precision-guided weapons to minimize collateral damage.
