Amidst fears of renewed Iranian rocket fire, Israelis are showing a strong preference for apartments with "Mamad" protected rooms, even as the overall housing market slows. Recent sales in cities like Harish, Rishon LeZion, and Be'er Sheva demonstrate continued demand for these secure units. This trend persists despite a general decrease in real estate transactions across Israel.

Amidst concerns over potential renewed rocket attacks from Iran, Israelis are increasingly seeking apartments equipped with a "Mamad" (a protected safe room). The Israeli real estate market has been experiencing a slowdown in recent months, particularly in the resale segment. However, apartments featuring these protected rooms continue to be in high demand, according to Calcalist.

Several recent transactions highlight this trend. In Harish, a 112 sq. m five-room apartment with a Mamad, balcony, elevator, and parking sold for 1.59 million shekels. In the same city, a 96 sq. m four-room apartment with similar amenities fetched 1.31 million shekels. A 78 sq. m three-room apartment with a Mamad in Harish was sold for 1.25 million shekels.

Further examples include a 78 sq. m three-room apartment with a Mamad in Rishon LeZion that sold for 1.84 million shekels. In Be'er Sheva, a 75 sq. m three-room apartment without a Mamad sold for 985,000 shekels, while a similar 79 sq. m unit sold for 925,000 shekels. A 140 sq. m four-room apartment with a Mamad in Be'er Sheva was sold for 1.43 million shekels.

Other sales include an 80 sq. m apartment for 1.1 million shekels, a 150 sq. m five-room apartment with a Mamad in Ofakim for 1.735 million shekels, and a 120 sq. m five-room apartment in Haifa for 1.25 million shekels. This sustained interest in Mamad-equipped apartments comes despite a general slowdown in the Israeli real estate market, where the number of transactions has significantly decreased.
