Prominent Rebbetzin Rivka Steinmetz Passes Away in US
Rebbetzin Rivka Steinmetz, a revered figure in Hasidic circles and mother-in-law to the Karlin-Stolin Rebbe, has passed away in the United States at an advanced age. She was the daughter of Rabbi Naftali Hertz Nitzlich.
In her first marriage, she was the wife of Rabbi Moshe David Steinmetz, founder of the "Etz Chaim" yeshiva in Bobov and the "Beis Ephraim" study hall in Brooklyn. Following his passing in 1992, she married in 1995 as her second husband, Rabbi the "Mevasher Tov" of Bialla.
For decades, Rebbetzin Steinmetz supported her prominent husbands, who were leaders in Torah and Hasidism, and dedicated herself to raising her children in devotion to Torah and religious observance. She leaves behind a distinguished lineage of rabbis and rebbes, including her son-in-law, the Karlin-Stolin Rebbe.
The funeral procession is scheduled for Tuesday, during the intermediate days of Sukkot in the US (Wednesday in Israel), departing at 11:30 AM from the "Beis Ephraim" study hall at 2802 Avenue J in Brooklyn, New York.
