המשטרה עצרה שני פלסטינים, תושבי הכפר קריות הסמוך לשכם, בשנות ה-50 לחייהם, בחשד לתמיכה בארגון הטרור חמאס, הסתה לטרור והחזקת נשק. המעצר בוצע בעקבות פעילות של כוח צה"ל בכפר, במהלכה נתפסו בביתם של החשודים אקדח, סכין, דגלי חמאס, כובעים עם סמלי הארגון וציוד לחימה נוסף. בית המשפט האריך את מעצרם של השניים בשישה ושבעה ימים לצורכי המשך חקירה.
