Two Palestinians Arrested in West Bank Village for Hamas Ties, Weapons
Police in Judea and Samaria are investigating two Palestinian residents of the village of Qaryut, near Nablus, on suspicion of incitement, supporting a terrorist organization, and possessing and using weapons. A court has extended their detention.
The investigation began following an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) operation in the village. During the operation, a search of a home uncovered a Colt pistol, a flag and headwear bearing the insignia of the Hamas terrorist organization, a knife, and other military equipment.
The two suspects, both residents of Qaryut around 50 years old, were taken for questioning at the Ariel police station and subsequently detained. At a court hearing, police successfully requested an extension of their custody for an additional six and seven days, respectively, to allow for further investigation.
