ביום הכיפורים האחרון, שהה הראשון לציון, הרב יצחק יוסף, בישיבת 'חזון עובדיה' בירושלים, העומדת בנשיאותו. במהלך הצום, נערכו תפילות, סליחות ותפילת נעילה בהיכל הישיבה, בהשתתפות תלמידי הישיבה והציבור הרחב.

עם סיום תפילת הנעילה ותקיעת השופר, יצא הרב יוסף יחד עם תלמידי הישיבה לחצר המבנה, שם קיימו את מעמד ברכת הלבנה. לאחר מכן, שב הרב יוסף אל היכל הישיבה, שם ערך את מעמד ההבדלה במוצאי הצום.

בסיום המעמד, בירך הרב יוסף את בני הישיבה ואת הציבור הרחב בברכת גמר חתימה טובה ושנה מבורכת.
