Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar Leads Yom Kippur Rituals in Jerusalem
Sephardic Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar, adorned in white robes and a turban reserved for holy days, led prayers and blessings following the conclusion of Yom Kippur. The Chief Rabbi stayed at the Shaarei Yerushalayim hotel, as he does annually, surrounded by his students.
He officiated the Musaf and Neilah services, the concluding prayers of the Day of Atonement. Following the fast, Rabbi Amar also recited the Birkat HaLevana (Blessing of the Moon) and Havdalah, the ceremony marking the end of the Sabbath and holy days. The event was described as uplifting.
