משטרת ישראל פתחה בחקירה נגד תושב דיר חנא בן 42, לאחר שאותר נוהג ברכב מסוג "ג'יפ לנד קרוזר" משוריין נגד ירי. הרכב המשוריין אותר על ידי שוטרי מחוז הצפון ביום רביעי, 16 בספטמבר 2026, בשעות הלילה, בעת שנסע על כביש 805 בסמוך ליישוב דיר חנא. הרכב נעצר במקום, והמשטרה הודיעה כי הוא הוחרם במסגרת הליכי עיקול.
