מדד המחירים לצרכן לחודש אוגוסט 2026 עלה ב-0.7%, נתון זהה לזה שנרשם באוגוסט 2025. כתוצאה מכך, שיעור האינפלציה השנתי בישראל נותר ללא שינוי ועומד על 1.5%. תחזיות האנליסטים דיברו על עלייה של בין 0.1% ל-0.3% בלבד.

העלייה במדד נבעה בעיקר מעליות מחירים בסעיפים של ירקות טריים (2.9%), תחבורה (2.7%), תרבות ובידור (2.0%) ודיור (0.6%). לעומת זאת, נרשמה ירידת מחירים בסעיפים של פירות טריים (2.0%), הלבשה (0.8%), מוצרי מזון (0.5%) וריהוט וציוד לבית (0.3%).
