המשטרה הישראלית עצרה שני בני אדם במג'ד אל-כרום, במהלך הפגנה עממית נגד הקמת מאחז יהודי באזור. ההפגנה התקיימה בנוכחות משטרתית כבדה, כאשר המפגינים קראו קריאות נגד המאחז.

הפרטים אודות נסיבות המעצר וזהות העצורים לא פורסמו. ראש הוועדה הארצית, מאזן ע'נאים, כינה את האירועים "תקדים מסוכן הדורש החלטה ברורה", והדגיש כי הסוגיה נוגעת לעתיד הקרקעות הערביות באזור כולו.

הקרן הקיימת לישראל צפויה לקיים היום דיון חירום בנושא, על רקע התגברות ההתנגדות העממית והפוליטית להקמת המאחז.
