דובר צה"ל הודיע כי צבא ההגנה לישראל חיסל את ראש חוליית גדודי אל-קודס של הג'יהאד האסלאמי, שהשתתף בפשיטה על מרחב כיסופים במהלך מתקפת ה-7 באוקטובר. החיסול בוצע במסגרת הפעילות המבצעית של צה"ל ברצועת עזה.

הבכיר, ששמו לא פורסם, היה אחראי על תכנון והוצאה לפועל של פעולות טרור נגד ישראל. צה"ל ממשיך לפעול נגד תשתיות הטרור של ארגון הטרור גא"פ ברצועת עזה, במטרה לפרק את יכולותיו הצבאיות ולאפשר את החזרת החטופים.
