במהלך הלילה שבין ה-13 ל-14 בספטמבר, אישה בת 22 נפצעה קשה מירי ביישוב אום בטין שבנגב. צוותי מד"א שהגיעו למקום העניקו לה טיפול רפואי ופינו אותה לבית החולים סורוקה בבאר שבע, כשהיא במצב קשה ולא יציב. משטרת ישראל פתחה בחקירה לאיתור נסיבות האירוע וזהות היורה.
