Deadly Bus Crash in Sinai Kills 16, Injures 28

A fatal bus accident occurred in southern Sinai, Egypt, on Wednesday morning when a passenger bus overturned on the road between Dahab and Nuweiba, near the Al-Saada area. At least 16 people were killed and 28 others were injured with varying degrees of severity.

Approximately 20 ambulances were dispatched to the scene to treat the injured and transport them to nearby hospitals. Egypt's Minister of Health, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, ordered an immediate increase in the alert level at medical centers in the region, assuring that the injured were receiving all necessary medical care.

The Nuweiba and Dahab area is a popular tourist destination, attracting many visitors from Israel. Consequently, MDA (Magen David Adom) teams from the Eilat region and the Israeli Police are coordinating with relevant authorities to determine if any Israeli citizens were among the victims.

This incident follows another severe accident in Egypt last month near Ismailia, which resulted in 15 deaths and dozens of injuries. Israeli authorities are closely monitoring the situation and local reports as they work to ascertain if any Israelis were involved in the fatal crash.
