Bus Crash in Sinai Kills 17, Including 10 Jordanians

A bus crash on the Dahab-Nuweiba road in Egypt's South Sinai Governorate has resulted in 17 fatalities, according to Egyptian media reports. Jordanian media sources indicated that 10 of the victims were Jordanian nationals. The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated it had no information at this stage regarding any Israeli casualties in the "horrific accident" and that it was monitoring incoming information. Earlier, the Egyptian Ministry of Health had reported 16 deaths and several injuries from the bus overturning. Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar was reportedly monitoring the health implications of the incident. The Egyptian Health Ministry's central operations room was activated, dispatching 20 ambulances to the scene to evacuate the injured and provide initial medical treatment.
