Deadly Bus Crash in Sinai Kills 16, Injures 28

A bus overturned on the Dahab-Nuwaiba road in southern Sinai on Wednesday morning, resulting in 16 fatalities and 28 injuries, according to Egypt's Ministry of Health. Egyptian media reports indicate the bus was en route to Jordan, and that Egyptian and Jordanian citizens were among the dead. No Israelis were reported to be involved in the incident.

Egypt's Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar is closely monitoring the situation. The ministry's official spokesperson stated that an emergency operations center was immediately activated and 20 ambulances were dispatched to the scene to provide first aid and transport the injured. This incident follows a previous tragedy in Sharm El Sheikh last month where a two-year-old Israeli girl drowned in a hotel pool. In May 2024, three Israelis from Kafr Qasim were killed and several relatives injured in a separate road accident near Nuwaiba, requiring assistance from the Israeli Air Force and Unit 669 for evacuation.
