Modi'in Man Charged with Sexually Assaulting 12-Year-Old Girl

A 33-year-old resident of Modi'in Illit, Meir Hamami, has been indicted for a sexual offense against a 12-year-old girl. The incident occurred when Hamami randomly encountered the girl at a crosswalk and offered her a ride. According to the indictment filed by the Central District Attorney's Office, Hamami drove the girl to a nearby forest after asking her personal questions. While stopped, he allegedly exposed himself to her and demanded a sexual act, urging her to "try it." The girl began to cry and pleaded that she was late, after which Hamami drove her home. The indictment charges Hamami with committing a lewd act against a minor. The prosecution has requested that he be held in custody until the end of legal proceedings.
