The story · English

Rabbi Yehoshua Saprin, the Rebbe of Kamarna-Manhattan, passed away in the United States at the age of 91. He was known as a prominent philanthropist and supporter of the Ger Hasidic sect's institutions.

Born in Ungvár, Rabbi Saprin was the grandson of Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac of Kamarna, the founder of the dynasty and author of "Heichel HaBracha." He resided in Manhattan for decades, leading his followers and contributing significantly to Jewish causes.

Rabbi Saprin was particularly noted for his substantial donations towards the renovation and upkeep of the Kamarna Hasidic synagogue on Malkei Israel Street in Jerusalem, a building originally established by his father. The synagogue is widely known as "Kamarna - Mifal HaPayis."

The funeral procession began on Sunday at 11:00 AM local time from the Shomrei Hadas funeral home in Boro Park, Brooklyn. His coffin is scheduled to be transported to Israel for burial.
