Hapoel Jerusalem Confirms Plans to Submit EuroLeague License Proposal

Hapoel Jerusalem has officially announced its intention to submit a proposal for a EuroLeague license in the coming days. This statement comes after reports indicated the club was not among the teams that initially applied for a license in the premier European basketball competition. The club emphasized that it remains a significant candidate for a permanent EuroLeague license, working in close coordination with EuroLeague management. Owner Matan Adelson and club officials are in direct contact with EuroLeague CEO Jordi Bertomeu, underscoring their commitment to the process.

Yesterday, EuroLeague revealed that 11 teams had submitted license applications, including Hapoel Tel Aviv, Valencia, Roma, PAOK Thessaloniki, Napoli, Paris, Partizan Belgrade, Red Star Belgrade, Virtus Bologna, and London Lions. Hapoel Jerusalem clarified that despite not being listed among these, they are actively pursuing a license.

Adelson stated, "Our goal is clear: to compete at the highest level of European basketball. We approach this process with full seriousness and commitment. In the coming weeks, we intend to present a very strong proposal, both financially and strategically. We firmly believe in what Hapoel Jerusalem can bring to the EuroLeague and are confident our proposal will form a convincing basis for the EuroLeague board's approval."
