Tyrese Rice Returns to EuroLeague as Bayern Munich Player Development Coach
Tyrese Rice, the former Maccabi Tel Aviv star known for his game-winning shot that propelled the team to the 2014 EuroLeague final and eventual championship, is returning to the EuroLeague in a new capacity. On August 26, 2026, Bayern Munich announced that Rice has signed with the club not as a player but as their player development coach, joining the team's professional staff. Rice previously played for Bayern Munich during the 2012-2013 season before his successful stint with Maccabi Tel Aviv. After leaving Maccabi, he played for several teams including Khimki, Barcelona, Bamberg, Panathinaikos, and in the Chinese league, before retiring with AEK Athens in 2020. This new role marks Rice's transition from player to coaching staff within the EuroLeague.
