Fatal Crash Near Afula Kills One, Injures Two in Truck-Car Collision
A deadly road accident occurred overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday on Route 675 near Nir Yafeh, south of Afula, resulting in the death of Fahmi Ziadat, a 30-year-old resident of Muqeibleh. Ziadat was trapped unconscious inside a private vehicle after it collided with a truck. Paramedics from Magen David Adom (MDA) treated two men in their 30s with severe multi-system injuries at the scene and transported them to Emek Medical Center. Despite medical efforts, Ziadat succumbed to his injuries.
MDA paramedic Avi Amoyal and medic Tal Karhi described the incident as a severe collision, noting that the truck driver was conscious but also suffered serious injuries. Life-saving treatments, including arterial bleeding control and respiratory support, were administered during the rescue.
Shortly after, a 25-year-old electric scooter rider was seriously injured in Tel Aviv after being hit by a truck. MDA medics provided emergency care and evacuated him to Ichilov Hospital with a severe head injury. MDA medic Shimon Kalpner reported the rider was conscious but critically injured.
Additional recent fatal road incidents include a motorcycle rider in his 40s who died in an accident in Kfar Saba, currently under police investigation, and a 26-year-old motorcyclist killed on Route 574 near Zemer, north of Tayibe, last Saturday.
