Israeli Singer Harel Skaat Releases New Single Urging to Embrace Life Imperfections

Israeli singer and songwriter Harel Skaat released a new single titled "Beshaa Tova" on Tuesday, which he co-wrote and composed with Shalom Michaelshvili, Omri Kastan, and Or Milshtein. In an interview on Kan 11's "Bachatzayim" program, Skaat explained that the song was inspired during a winter power outage, creating a positive atmosphere that led to writing the song by candlelight and guitar. The song's central message encourages listeners to stop waiting for perfection and to accept themselves with all their complexities and flaws. "You need to simply stop and live, not wait for things to be perfect," Skaat said, adding that such insights come with age.

Skaat also revealed plans to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his debut album from 2006, which includes hits like "Ve'et," "Mashehu Mimeni," and "Kol Hatziporim." Although the celebrations were postponed due to the current security situation in Israel, they are expected to take place in an expanded format in the coming months. Skaat will perform the new single live for the first time tomorrow at the Barby Club in Tel Aviv.

On a personal note, Skaat shared that he is spending the end of summer at home with his children, Ari and Isla, and has recently taken up cooking as a hobby, describing it as a form of art in which he modestly claims to be skilled. The interview also touched briefly on other Israeli artists, reflecting on the intense drama in the country’s music scene.
