Tali Gottlieb Criticizes Former General Ofer Winter’s New Right-Wing Party as Playing Into Left’s Hands

On Tuesday, Knesset member Tali Gottlieb sharply criticized retired Brigadier General Ofer Winter for founding a new right-wing political party. Gottlieb acknowledged Winter’s military achievements but dismissed his political ambitions, stating he is not the messiah who will save the right-wing camp. She accused him of inadvertently serving as a tool for the left-wing, especially at a time when efforts are focused on strengthening existing parties to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state under the auspices of figures like Eisenkot, Golan, and Abbas.

Gottlieb warned Winter that the left will praise his supposed electoral strength and encourage him to continue, just as they did with Benny Gantz, Naftali Bennett, and Eisenkot, to weaken the right-wing bloc. She described Winter as a talented soloist and commander but emphasized that he is only human and will not rescue Israel politically. Gottlieb suggested that Winter might be offered a reserved spot on an existing party list if he remains realistic about his role, concluding that he is not a headache but rather a conscience-driven pain for the current moment.
