Israel Faces Intense Heatwave This Week Before Possible Weekend Rainfall

Israel is experiencing a significant heatwave this week, with temperatures rising above seasonal averages across much of the country. On Tuesday, temperatures increased slightly in the mountains and inland areas, accompanied by heavy heat burdens. The morning will start clear after clouds disperse, with similar conditions expected on Wednesday, including a further slight temperature rise and continued heat stress.

This intense heatwave is forecast to persist through Saturday, impacting most regions with unusually high temperatures. However, a surprising weather shift is anticipated over the weekend, with temperatures expected to drop and a rare rain system potentially developing. Currently, this rain is predicted mainly for northern Israel but may extend to central areas.

Temperature forecasts for key cities include Jerusalem at 21-32°C, Tel Aviv at 23-31°C, Haifa at 22-30°C, Kiryat Shmona and Tiberias both reaching up to 37°C, and Eilat experiencing the highest temperatures between 30-42°C. Residents should prepare for continued heat stress followed by possible rainfall starting Saturday.
