Boxer Ahavat Hashem Gordon Marries Amid New Rabbinical Guidelines on Ketubah Amounts

Israeli boxer Ahavat Hashem Gordon married on Sunday at the "Beya'ar" event hall in Hadera. The wedding ceremony was officiated by Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Freiman, a Chabad emissary in Zikhron Yaakov and a wedding rabbi with the organization 'Tekhelet.' Just before the chuppah, Rabbi Freiman explained to the groom the new regulations issued by the Chief Rabbinate regarding the monetary amount stated in the ketubah, the traditional Jewish marriage contract.

The update, announced the same day by Rabbi Hezkiyahu Samin, head of the Marriage Department at the Ministry of Religious Services, aims to clarify and standardize the ketubah's financial terms. This measure intends to preserve the ketubah's original halachic significance and ensure stability in its application. Gordon committed to the maximum amount allowed under the new guidelines and was married according to Jewish law.
