Benjamin Maccini in advanced talks to join Hapoel Kfar Saba
Hapoel Haifa goalkeeper Benjamin Maccini is in advanced negotiations with Hapoel Kfar Saba, Sports Channel reported on Monday, June 15, 2026. The 29-year-old Jewish keeper is expected to leave Haifa, after the club already announced an extension for backup goalkeeper Matan Ambar.
Maccini joined Hapoel Haifa about a year ago after a season with Hapoel Raanana in the National League, and earlier played in Sweden for Djurgarden, where he won the 2019 championship. During last season he got a chance as the first-choice goalkeeper, but suffered a quadriceps tear and returned only after Yoav Gerafi came back to the club and reclaimed the No. 1 role.
If the move is completed, Maccini will head to Hapoel Kfar Saba, while that club is set to part ways with goalkeeper Razi Abu Hamdan, who is on his way to M.S. Ashdod. On Sunday night, Maccini said farewell to Hapoel Haifa supporters, thanking them for their “warmth, love and support” throughout the season despite not playing regularly, and said he was saddened by the team’s decline at the end of the season and wished them success next year.
