Benjamin Maccini Officially Joins Hapoel Kfar Saba
Benjamin Maccini, the 29-year-old Jewish goalkeeper who played last season for Hapoel Haifa, has officially signed with Hapoel Kfar Saba. The deal, first reported by Sport 5, was announced on June 16, 2026, at 11:11.
Maccini had a chance to start for Hapoel Haifa during the season, but he tore his quadriceps muscle and only returned to fitness after Yoav Gerafi came back to the club and reclaimed the goalkeeping role. After Hapoel Haifa confirmed an extension for backup keeper Matan Ambar, Maccini is now leaving the Carmel club.
He is expected to join the Greens, who are also set to part ways with goalkeeper Razi Abu Hamdan, who is on his way to M.S. Ashdod. Maccini signed for Hapoel Haifa about a year ago after one season with Hapoel Raanana in the National League, and earlier played in Sweden for Djurgarden, where he won the 2019 championship.
On Monday night, Maccini said goodbye to Hapoel Haifa fans, thanking them for their support and saying it was an honor and pleasure to play for the club. He wrote that he had not imagined Hapoel Haifa would become a near-certain relegation candidate, said it was sad to see the team’s decline late in the season, and wished the club success next year.
