The debate was sparked by remarks from Noam Solberg, chairman of the Central Elections Committee, who stated that Zini holds authority over the security arrangements for Gadi Eizenkot, chairman of the Yisrael party. Zini responded by confirming that the decision not to provide security for Eizenkot was made solely by him, following consultations with professional bodies including Judge Solberg himself. Zini accepted full responsibility for this decision.
