Dror Brothers Group Wins Tender to Open New Restaurant at Tel Aviv's Station Complex

The veteran Israeli restaurant group Dror Brothers has won the tender to operate the dining space formerly occupied by the iconic Vicky Christina restaurant in Tel Aviv's Station Complex. This announcement comes amid a turbulent period for the group, which recently closed its Ivy restaurant due to a real estate project and lost a competitive bid to take over the legendary Manta Ray restaurant space on the Tel Aviv beachfront.

Dror Brothers, known for their flagship Tel Aviv restaurant "The Brothers" and "Doc," emphasize local ingredients and culinary creativity. Their new venture at the Station Complex, located between Neve Tzedek and the beach, aims to revive a venue that has struggled for years to attract visitors despite significant architectural investment. The closure of Vicky Christina, a longtime anchor of the complex, marked a low point for the area’s nightlife and dining scene.

While the group is currently developing the culinary concept for the new restaurant, it has confirmed that it will not be a reopening of Ivy. In a farewell post from February, Dror Brothers described Ivy’s closure as a transition and an opportunity to reimagine their cuisine and storytelling through local ingredients. The key question remains whether Dror Brothers’ experience and reputation can overcome the Station Complex’s challenges and reinvigorate the venue with new energy and patrons.

The Station Complex has long been considered one of Tel Aviv’s most challenging hospitality projects, struggling to compete with more popular venues like the Flea Market and Carmel Market.
