Judge Allows National Security Minister Ben Gvir to Speak at Police Volunteers Event Despite Attorney General's Objection

Judge Noam Solberg rejected a petition seeking to prevent National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir from attending and speaking at an event honoring police volunteers and emergency response units. The petition was filed against Ben Gvir’s participation on grounds raised by the Attorney General, who argued the event constituted election propaganda linked to Ben Gvir’s success in establishing over 1,000 emergency response units. However, Judge Solberg sided with attorney Ze'ev Wolf, representing Ben Gvir, who demonstrated that the guidelines for the event were personalized and specifically drafted for this occasion.

Ben Gvir responded to the ruling by criticizing Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, stating she previously failed to stop the establishment of the emergency response units and had now again failed to prevent him from attending the event to thank the volunteers. He emphasized that he had created more than 1,000 such units and would be present to express gratitude to the thousands of volunteers risking their lives for the security of Israeli citizens.
