Airport Authority Deploys Management Staff to Ease Ben Gurion Airport Congestion

The Israel Airports Authority and its workers' committee held a meeting on Sunday morning to address the ongoing operational crisis at Ben Gurion Airport. They agreed to halt labor restrictions and continue hiring new employees to stabilize airport functions. A key decision was made to have management and headquarters staff join frontline shifts, particularly in baggage handling and queue management, to quickly reduce congestion.

The authority stated it is taking immediate steps to restore normal operations after a period of heavy workloads. Baggage services, security, and ground operations have resumed full functionality without ongoing labor actions. Meanwhile, management personnel are actively supporting operational teams on the ground to alleviate pressure points.

Preparations are also underway for the upcoming Jewish High Holidays, including onboarding new staff as part of the airport's advance planning.
