Israeli TV Host Avi Kachon Opens Up About Severe Depression and Weight Loss After Divorce
Avi Kachon, the popular host of the Israeli show "Almost Shabbat Shalom," recently revealed the difficult period he endured following his divorce from his children's mother, Rali. Speaking on his program aired on Keshet 12, Kachon disclosed that he suffered from severe depression after the separation, which led to a significant weight loss of 23 kilograms. He admitted uncertainty about whether his condition was related to an eating disorder but noted that he stopped eating and dropped to a very small clothing size.
Currently, Kachon is in a relationship with news presenter Magi Tavivi from Channel 14, who is 19 years his junior, marking a happier chapter in his life. During the show, dancer Artyom Liaskovski, a panel participant, emphasized the importance of social support during such challenging times. He highlighted that people often do not openly share their struggles, so friends and family must be more aware and attentive to signs of distress.
Kachon's candid discussion sheds light on the mental health challenges that can follow major life changes like divorce and underscores the need for community awareness and support.
