Jonathan Teper Reaches Settlement in Israeli Sports Doping Case with Suspension Until October
Jonathan Teper has reached a settlement with the National Anti-Doping Agency in Israel regarding the doping case involving Ironi Tiberias players. The agreement, submitted for approval by the Israeli Sports Doping Tribunal, confirms that Teper violated the agency's regulations. As part of the settlement, Teper will serve a five-month suspension starting from July 5, 2026. However, with continued full cooperation under the agency's framework, two months of the suspension will be deducted, reducing his effective ban to three months. This arrangement mirrors those made with fellow Ironi Tiberias players Guy Hadida, David Kaltins, and Niv Gottlieb, allowing them to return to play by early October.
The only remaining player without a settlement is Sambinia, currently in Portugal. His attorney, based in Israel, is actively negotiating with the agency, with a resolution expected soon. This development follows the agency's recent settlements with three other Ironi Tiberias players, marking significant progress in the doping case involving the club.
