Tiberias Football Players Accept Suspension Deal in Sports Doping Case
The National Anti-Doping Agency in Israel reached a settlement with three football players from Ironi Tiberias, Guy Hadida, David Kaltins, and Niv Gottlieb, regarding allegations of receiving fluid infusions at the club's facilities. The case, linked to violations of the agency's regulations based on WADA rules, concluded with an agreement submitted for approval to the Israeli Sports Anti-Doping Tribunal. Each player will face an eight-month suspension starting July 5, 2026. However, with continued full cooperation under the agreed framework, five months will be deducted, resulting in an effective three-month ban for each athlete. Dr. Daniel Hershtein, CEO of the agency, emphasized the importance of sending a clear message to athletes, coaches, and staff to avoid prohibited substances and maintain clean, fair, and healthy sports. He affirmed the agency's commitment to act decisively and impartially to uphold these standards.
