Tiberias Football Players Receive Three-Month Suspension After Doping Settlement
The Israeli Sports Anti-Doping Committee has reached a settlement with three players from Ironi Tiberias football club involved in a doping case concerning the administration of intravenous fluids. The players, Guy Hadida, David Kaltins, and Niv Gottlieb, were found to have violated the agency's regulations, which are based on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) code. The committee imposed an eight-month suspension starting July 5, 2026, but with full cooperation from the players, five months of the suspension were deducted, resulting in an effective ban of three months. This means the players will be eligible to return to play in October 2026.
Dr. Daniel Hershtein, CEO of the Anti-Doping Agency, emphasized the importance of sending a clear message to athletes, coaches, and staff to avoid prohibited substances and maintain clean, fair, and healthy sports. He affirmed the agency's commitment to enforcing these standards impartially and resolutely. The case had been under scrutiny for some time, and the settlement marks a resolution to the doping allegations within the club's training facilities.
