Hapoel Be'er Sheva/Dimona Appoints Experienced European Coach Doug Spradley

Hapoel Be'er Sheva/Dimona, preparing for the 2026/27 Israeli Basketball Premier League season, officially announced the appointment of Doug Spradley as their new head coach on August 20, 2026. The 59-year-old coach brings over two decades of experience leading European basketball teams, primarily in Germany and the Netherlands. Spradley has coached several teams in Germany's top Bundesliga, reaching playoffs and semifinals, and most recently led ZZ Leiden in the Netherlands for four seasons. During his tenure at ZZ Leiden, he won two Dutch championships, the Dutch Cup, the BNXT League title, two Supercup trophies, and reached the finals four times.

Last season, Hapoel Be'er Sheva/Dimona finished eighth in the Israeli Premier League with a 10-16 record, securing a playoff spot. They were eliminated in the quarterfinals by top-seeded Maccabi Tel Aviv after a decisive 108-83 loss. The club aims to build on this progress under Spradley's leadership as they enter the new season.
