Israeli Police Solve Double Murder in Golan Heights, Indict Hit Squad Members

Israeli police have solved a double murder that took place about two months ago in the Golan Heights village of Buq'ata. The victims, Marwan Abu Shaheen, 52, a local resident, and Saada Saada, 56, from Hurfeish, were shot while inside a vehicle. Investigations revealed that a hit squad from a northern crime organization planned the attack in advance. The group rented a cabin in Buq'ata the day before the murders and arrived with two cars purchased from a car lot in Usfiya.

The main suspect was arrested under dramatic circumstances in Yirka after firing at a business employee, seriously injuring him. Police officers engaged the suspect, who was armed with a handgun, and took him into custody. Today, indictments will be filed against three suspects from Sajur, Sumei'a, and Kiryat Shmona for the double murder, as well as against the 19-year-old suspect for the attempted murder in Yirka.
