On August 19, Werder Bremen fans paid tribute to Hirsch Goldberg Poland, a devoted Hapoel Jerusalem supporter, marking two years since his murder by Hamas according to the Hebrew calendar. The German club's supporters displayed an emotional banner reading, "You will always be in our hearts, brother." This gesture reflects the longstanding friendship between Hapoel Jerusalem and Werder Bremen fan groups, which includes mutual visits and shared support at matches.

Hirsch Goldberg Poland was a central figure in connecting the two fan bases, frequently visiting the Weserstadion and becoming a fan of Werder Bremen himself. After his kidnapping on October 7, the German fans actively campaigned for his release, showing support through tributes and signs in the stands.
